He is survived by: his sisters, Dorothy Gedman and Claire Gedman; his children, Steven (Mark), Lori (Chris), Beth Blount (Clay) and Wendy French (Craig); his grandchildren, Giselle, Taylor, Kenton, Katelyn and Gage; his wife Barbara Shepard; his stepgrandson Jason; his stepgreat-granddaughter Lorelia; his parents, William (Bill) and Mabel; and his sister Jeannie Pikora.

David wanted his body donated to science and he was donated to Science Care where he will benefit others through organ/tissue donation and medical research.
