He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Franz and Irene Franz; his wife Eleanor; his children, Roger Franz (Janice) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cathy Orient (Jeffrey) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Elliot Franz (Tara) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Oliver Franz (Abigail) of Chicago, Illinois, Lisa Orient Matthews (Ryan) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Katlyn Orient East (Drew) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Jeremy Orient of Pittsburgh; his great grandchild Henley Cathlene Matthews (Knoxville); and his son Stephen Edward. He was also cherished by great-grandchildren.
