She was predeceased by: her children, Maritza Lozada and Leonardo Lozada. She is survived by: her husband Melvin Cartagena; and her children, Eladio Colon, Jessica Alkassar, Jennifer Cartagena, Jacklyn Cartagena, David Cartagena and Daniel Cartagena. She is also survived by companion and the love of her life.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lung Cancer in Maritza's name, as a testament to her caring and generous nature.
