He is survived by: his wife Lena Downing; his children, Cathie Maddy (Ryan) of O'Fallon, MO and Wayne Downing, Jr. (Allison) of Edwardsville, IL; his brothers, Sonny Downing of Roxana, IL and Berneal Downing of Wood River, IL; and his grandchildren, Payton Downing, Colin Maddy, Ellie Bozarth, A. J. Downing, Annie Bozarth and Claire Maddy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
