He was predeceased by: his son Joshua Wootton; his sister Lynn McTaggart; and his parents, Elsie Wootton and Albert Wootton. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his daughter Amy; his son-in-law Mark Mattson; and his grandchildren, Aine and Aidan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, his close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to St. Jude's Children Hospital in honor of Richard Wootton.
