He was predeceased by: his brother Richard Thomas Gouner; and his stepson Timothy Fultz. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Scott Gouner; his children, Stephen, Christopher, Nicole (Stobbs) and Ashley (Alberty); his sister Mary Lynne Gouner Richarme; and his niece Megan Richarme. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many cousins.
