He was predeceased by: his daughter Erica Noel Smith; his brother Bryan "Hotfish" Hopkins; and his grandparents, King, Bernice Gee, Herman Smith (Catherine) and Hazel Cowart (John).
He is survived by: his son Nickolas Smith; his parents, Wallace Smith and Virginia Smith; his siblings, Beverly Hand (Scott), Thomas Smith and Jody Pickett; his sister-in-law Amanda Profitt (Ben); his nieces and nephews, Kory Bryant (Autumn), Kylee Thompson (Dalton), Scotty Hand, Jr., Olivia Profitt, Levi Profitt, Connie Bennett (Matt) and Jordan Hand; and his grandsons, Waylon, Nelson Bryant, Maddex Thompson and Matt Bennett, Jr..
