He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Mosley and Eva Mosley. He is survived by: his children, James L. Mosley, Sr. (Sarah) and Lynn Letellier (Keith); his sister Lillie Mae Pittman (Ronnie); and his wife Dorothy Mae Thornton Mosley of Macclenny. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
