We are sad to announce that on August 26, 2020, at the age of 84, William Chaires Sr. of Hilliard, Florida, born in Jacksonville, Florida passed away. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hodges Chaires and Eunice Forest Chaires; his former wife Patricia Chaires; his daughter Donna Hogan; his son-in-law Frederick Schaerf; and his siblings, Frank Chaires, Ruby Lee and Olivia Ricketson.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Ann Brooks Chaires; his children, Cindy Shane (Mark), Brenda Hamilton, Melissa Schaerf, Billy Chaires (Christie), Tanya Higginbotham (Terry) and Gina Denmark; his sister Joyce Chaires; and his grandchildren, Josh Hogan (Jenny), Jena Nichols (Jeremy), Jessica Baley, Alexandra Schaerf, Frederick Schaerf, II, Gunner Chaires, Scout Chaires, Christen Hinson (Josh), Brandon Higginbotham (Amy) and Chad Denmark. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
