He was predeceased by: his wife Jeannette Tremble; and his children, Herbert Jr. and Sharon Dunham (Fred). He is survived by: his former wife Carole Jowers; his children, Gary Jowers (Joy) and Denise Diana (David); his siblings, James Jowers and Sherrill Sellers (Burt); and also Jay Jowers (Tina). He is also survived by step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Herbert's name to Hospice of St. Francis 1250 Grumman Place Suite B Titusville, Florida.
