Willadean Calvin LeBlanc lit a candle

“I was shocked and deeply saddened when I was informed of Charles’s death. I'd not seen him for several years when I saw him and Denise at Denise Lee’s viewing. We had a nice conversation. I had no idea that he was ill. I've known Charles and Longineu since Charles and I were in seventh grade. Their mother, Gloria, was my Geography teacher at Darnell-Cookman. My heart goes out to Denise, Longineu and the entire Parsons family during this time of bereavement. Rest in Paradise, my friend… ❤️🙏🏽”

Paul Presha wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences to the family of Charles. I met him when he was a lifeguard, at Jefferson Street Swimming Pool the summer of 1967. I talked with him the week before his death. We had a great conversation about his life down Memeorial lane. He was great man and will be missed by his family and friends. RIP Paul Presha Jacksonville, Fl.”

Tony Sapp wrote a sympathy message

“I was saddened to hear first that Charles was sick and then hear of his passing. I'm so sorry for his family on their loss. I knew Charles and his older brother Longinue from Darnell-Cookman Junior High School bands. He was a true friend and a group of us would always visit him at his home and Mrs. Parson, who was a school teacher at Darnell-Cookman and they were always SO nice. Great family. I lost track of Charles when he went to Ribault and I went to New Stanton. Rest on Charles my friend.”
