He is survived by : his stepmother Rosa James; his children, Gregory Taylor, Jr. (Marva) of Jasper, Florida and Sheryl Lynn Taylor of Lake Park, Georgia; his siblings, Mary Evans Atkins of Philadelphia, Cynthia Sowell of Jasper, Mary Ashley (Ray) of Ladson, Gloria Edwards (Lee) of Florence, Elsie James of Charleston, Alonzo Sowell (Pearl) of Jasper, Brent Sowell of Jasper, Glenn Sowell of Jasper, Donnie Sowell of Laurel, Carl Sowell of San Antonio, Leonard Phillips of Gainesville, Bruce Phillips (Sonja) of Wilmington, Jake James (Ruthie) of White Springs and Walter James (Johnnie Carroll) of Jacksonville, Florida; and his grandchildren, Gakeira Ash (James) of Tallahassee, Gregory Taylor, Jr. of Alamo, Nicolas Taylor of Lake Park, Georgia and Nicole Taylor of Lake Park, Georgia. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
