He was predeceased by : his parents, Antonio Aponte and Gregoria Aponte; and his son-in-law Mark Metz. He is survived by : his wife Helga Diaz (Mendez); his daughters, Maria Metz of Melrose and Adelaida Diaz of Davenport; and his stepson Philip Metz (Melissa). He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
