With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Paula Elizabeth Akins of Lake City, Florida, born in Fernandina Beach, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 5, 2025. She was predeceased by: her husband Bascom Ray Akins; and her parents, Hal P. Akins and Hattie M. Dukes Akins. She is survived by: her sons, Hal P. Akins (Tami) of Punta Gorda and Jonathan Akins (Laurie) of Lake City; her siblings-in-law, Gwen Barker (Lloyd) of Penson, Alabama and Joe Akins (Betty) of Gainesville; her grandchildren, Laurie Elizabeth Akins, Lindsey Rae Akins, Jordan Forest Akins, Austin Jackson Akins, Abigail Madison Akins, Brittney Douglass and Savannah Taylor (James); and her great grandchildren, Willow Akins and Ember Akins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Guerry Funeral Home (2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City, FL 32025). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Memorial Cemetery (526 NW Lake Jeffery Rd, Lake City, FL 32055).
