He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lamar Blanton and Frances Woodward Blanton; and his siblings, Jan Anglin, Lamar "Bubba" Blanton and Kemp Blanton.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Blanton; his children, Derek Blanton, Dustin Blanton and Adena Carnish; his brother Roger Blanton (Marcia) of Lakeland, FL; and his grandchildren, Ava, Ella and Tinsley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
