We bid farewell to Sharon Rose Chalfant Casey (Lakeland, Florida), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 29, 2024 at the age of 79. Sharon Rose Chalfant touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Ray Chalfant and Amelia Fry Chalfant Jones; and her stepfather John Jones. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Dan Casey of Lakeland; her children, Curtis Casey (Sue Ann) of Loudon, TN, Marcus Casey (Jessika) of Dublin, OH and Cherie Miller (J. J.) of Lakeland, FL; her grandchildren, Jake Miller, Nate Miller of Lakeland, FL, Avery Casey, Finn Casey and Phoebe Casey of Dublin, OH; her sister Martha Jenkins (Bob) of Cropwell, AL; and her nephew Mike Jenkins. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sharon Casey Memorial Scholarship Fund at Olivet Nazarene University, 1 University Ave, Bourbonnais, IL 60914. Special thanks to Brookdale Senior Living Alzheimer's/ Dementia House and the Watson Oncology Clinic.

“Dear Dr. Dan, I know that your heart weeps over your loss. (I am 81 and Joan is 88 and we still have each other. Although Alzheimer's is taking a heavy toll on Joan right now.) We have both had you in our prayers. (Rita told me of your wish that she was in Lakeland to sing for the service. That made me wish that I had been your volunteer! While living in Bethany, I was a professional soloist for funerals in central Oklahoma. and later was both paid and volunteer in NW Arkansas. area.)”
