Penny" 75, passed away November 6, 2018, under the care of Suncoast Hospice. Penny was born July 9, 1943 in Newton, Massachusetts. She graduated from Needham High School, and then went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Westfield State University. Penny was a lifelong educator and taught in elementary classrooms in Massachusetts, Colorado, Japan, and for most of her career, in Pinellas County Schools. Penny was an accomplished gardener, photographer and baker, and was quick to make friends. She had a giving nature and was known to share gifts and surprises with the people she loved. Of her many volunteer duties, Penny most loved greeting her fellow worshippers at church on Sundays. Penny is survived by her sons, Brian Overcast and Stephen Overcast; her grandchildren, Reilly Overcast, Maeve Overcast, and Molly Jager; her brother, Peter F. Brooks and his wife, Sandra; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Anona United Methodist Church, Saturday, November 10th, at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Penny's memory to Anona United Methodist Church, 13233 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
