She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Allen Ditmars and Cora Bell Holland Ditmars; her husband Jeff Ates, Jr.; her son Jeff "Sonny" Ates III; and her brothers, Charlie Ditmars, Cecil and Sidney Earl Lewis.
She is survived by : her brother Ellis Thames Lewis; her children, Jacqueline Burgess (Robert) and C. Allen Ates (Robbie); her daughter-in-law June Ates; and her grandchildren, Robert Burgess, Jr., Ryan Burgess, Kimberly Burgess Ghavidel, Jeff Ates IV, Jayme Ates Patterson, Jodi Ates, Jennifer Ates O'Quinn, W. Allen Ates and Mary Katherine Ates (Katie). She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She volunteered with the American Heart Association in Santa Rosa County and the Santa Rosa Extension Homemakers.
