He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Bortle and George W. Bortle. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Bortle; his children, Allyson Carter (Vince), Robyn Bortle (Matthew Geiling) and Steven Bortle (Lisa); his stepson Nick Sargenti (Jessica); and his grandchildren, Rhegan Carter, Archimedes (Bremen Davis), Angelina (Logan Bortle), Kaleb and Blake (Landon Sargenti).
