He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Gardner and George Gardner; his children, Patricia McCabe and David Gardner; and his grandchildren, Jason McCabe and Karen Franek.
He is survived by: his wife Merida R. Gardner; his children, Christine Franek (Duane) and John Gardner (Tammy); his daughter-in-law Jean Gardner; his brother Ronald Gardner (Irene); and his sister-in-law Kathleen Harrington. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that individuals donate blood to the American Red Cross.
