She was predeceased by : her parents, Virgil Hughes and Eileen Hughes of Columbus, NE; and her brother-in-law Dan Peetz. She is survived by : her former life partner Robert Wieck; her husband Greg Mertz; her children, Chad Wieck (Lynette), Stephanie Distefano (Dave) and Kelli Wade (Jerry Harvat); her stepchildren, Stacey Padovan (Dave) and Wesley Mertz (Nevie); her grandchildren, Natalie (Matt), Brianne, Colton, John David, Adam, Connor, Cylie, Sarah, Chloe, Sam, Nick, Joe, Laina, Sidney, Kennedy, Jay and Lily; her great grandchild Harper; and her siblings, Brian Hughes (Kay), Bob Hughes (Mary Pat) and Patti Peetz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
