Nilvania Altagracia Malagon Guzman Obituary
Nilvania Altagracia Malagon Guzman was born on November 5, 1952, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Ligia Sabina Guzman and Miguel Angel Malagon Portorreal. At the age of 14, she migrated to Brooklyn, New York, with her mother and brothers, where she would plant the roots of her incredible life. She graduated from Tilden High School in May 1972 and soon after, in June of the same year, married and started her family, becoming the proud mother of four beautiful daughters.
Nilvania was a dedicated and talented cosmetologist for over 30 years. Her passion for beauty and style was evident as she won numerous awards and became a master colorist. But her ambition didn't stop there—her entrepreneurial spirit shined through when she opened two successful salons, Nil's Hair Designs & Spa. Nilvania wasn't just a businesswoman; she was an artist who touched the lives of her clients, bringing out the best in everyone who sat in her chair.
To know Nilvania was to love her. She radiated energy and positivity, always lighting up a room with her presence. Her life was a celebration of love, laughter, and joy. She had an extraordinary ability to lift others, going out of her way to help those in need, and never missing a chance to make someone smile. Nilvania's love for singing, dancing, and worship was a reflection of her deep faith in God, which guided her throughout her life. Her unwavering devotion and warmth will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Nilvania is survived by her four daughters: Melanie Guy and her husband, Corey Guy; Aleidys Buendia and her husband, Marvin Buendia; Melisandy Ibarguen; and Liani Ibarguen, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and strength. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Anthony Delorbe, Luis Bonilla, Gabriella Buendia, and Brianna Delorbe-Roche, along with Brianna's husband, Darren Roche.
A celebration of Nilvania's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Porta Coeli Funeral Home, 2801 E. Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Osceola Memorial Gardens.
Nilvania touched countless hearts in her lifetime, and her light will continue to shine through those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
