He was predeceased by : his parents, Johnny Shivers and Evangelist Mary Wright; his wife Catherine Shivers; and his sisters, Dorothy Crowley and Ann Dawson.
He is survived by : his children, Charlie Shivers Jr. (Christine), Calandra Lamb, Christopher Shivers (Melissa), Cory Shivers (Rhonda), Clayton Shivers, Craig Shivers and Casey Shivers; and his siblings, Matthew Wright, Ronald Shivers (Carissa), Tom McClendon, Regina McGlocklin and Betty Shivers. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
