He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hester and Louise Hester; and his former wife Connie Hester. He is survived by: his fiancée Kathy Hart; his son Timothy Hester; his stepchildren, Ronny Ross, Stacey Ross and Shelly Roper (Jamie); and his siblings, James Hubert Justice (Theresa), Dewayne Newton (Gail) and Linda Faye Quattlebaum (Marty).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local animal shelter or charity of choice, as Gene was a passionate advocate for the care and well-being of animals.
