He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Fanning, Sr. and Georgia Ann Kitchens Fanning; and his sister Jane. He is survived by: his wife Jean P. Fanning; his sister Brenda Newman; his children, Thomas P. Fanning (Katie) and Laura Lebedev (Yuri); his grandchildren, Bethany Fanning, Caleb Fanning, Madison Lebedev, Marina Lebedev and Mikhail Lebedev; and his nieces, Sharon Wolfe and Angie Shay (Patrick).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Westview Cemetery (512 Westview Dr, Thomson, GA 30824).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrew UMC and Mercy Chefs.
