She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Marvin Lanton and Lonnie Lanton; and her husband Charles Carter Peterson. She was also cherished by four children, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel (214 Airport Rd, Panama City, FL 32405). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to your local animal shelter in memory of Joyce Peterson.
