He was predeceased by: his parents, Mitchell A. Merritt and Johnnie Mae Merritt (McDonald); and his daughter-in-law Mona Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Merritt (Salter); his son Eric Merritt of Panama City, FL; his brother Alan Merritt (Darlene) of Blakely, GA; his grandsons, Matthew Morris (Michelle) of Panama City, FL and Daniel Morris (Kayla) of Panama City, FL; and his great grandchildren, Brayden, Damon, Greyson and Granger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
