Tavarez, Alexandrina Rodriguez (Sandra), Nelson Tavarez and Rosemary Fraga; his grandchildren, Joseph Rodriguez (Joey), Tiffany Jaramillo, Jessenia Londono, Christina Tavarez (Tina), Justin Ortiz, Christian Ortiz, Kristy Colon, Nelson Tavarez and Adrien Tavarez; his great grandchildren, Jaslene and Jayden Hernandez; and his siblings, Catalina Tineo, Pedro Tavarez, Anthonia Batista, Altagracia Rodriguez, Josefa Rodriguez, Mercedes Jimenez, Rosa Lugo and Socorro Tavarez.

He bravely battled Alzheimer's disease for more than 10 years.
