Joyce Rolene Beauman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Rolene Beauman of Penney Farms, Florida, who passed away peacefully in her home on November 28, 2021 at the age of 93.
Joyce was born in Hillsdale County, MI, on Nov, 5, 1928, to Ethel and Grant Howald, She attended Monroe High School, where she played flute in the band and harp in the orchestra, and attended North Central College in Naperville, IL. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Warren Beauman, whom she had met in high school. Together they raised four children.
Church was a focal point in their lives, as was music. Parallel to her husband’s career in music education, Joyce was active in cultivating community support and appreciation for the performing arts. As a member of the Federation of Music Clubs, she served in many leadership roles. Joyce and Warren’s commitment to music took a new turn when they purchased the “Woods and Winds Camp” in Dryden, MI. More than a bit of hard work went into creating this successful summer youth program. Joyce’s organizational skills not only ensured a smooth-running operation, her hard work and dedication inspired many associated with the camp.
Joyce and Warren moved to Penney Farms Retirement Community in 2009, where she volunteered in various capacities and sang in the choir and women’s chorus. She was an enthusiastic member of the music committee and was honored to serve as its chair.
Her precious daughter, Susan, and her sister, Kathryn preceded her in death. Joyce Is survived by her loving husband, Warren, and their children: Eric (Linda) Beauman of Richmond, MI; Julia (Bruce) Lupp of Schmitten, Germany; and Mark (Andrea) Beauman of Haslett, MI. She will forever be cherished by her grandchildren — Betsy Trask, Lisa McNaughton, Grant Beauman, Christopher Lupp, Lauren Edgar, Daniel Lupp, Emily Moore, Andrew Beauman, and Nicholas Beauman — and 13 great-grandchildren.
