He was predeceased by : his wife Marilyn Bittner; his parents, John Bittner and Mary Bittner; and his brothers, Jack and Raymond.

He is survived by : his children, Linda Winter (Ken Winter), Ronald Haefele (Peggy Haefele) and John Bittner (Susan Bittner); his grandsons, Brian Winter (Denise Winter), Kenny Winter (Heather Winter) and Chad Haefele; his great grandchildren, Justin, Kaylin and Brianna; his sister Elizabeth "Boots" Glass; his brother-in-law Larry Sieg (Debbie Sieg); and his nephews, Ryan Sieg (Brandi Sieg) and Brandon Sieg (Tracy Sieg). He is also survived by two great nephews and one great niece in FL and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
