She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dewitt York and Annie Laura Phillips; her husband Hubert Lamar Shirey; her daughter Karen Anthony; her stepchildren, Kenneth Shirey, Leesa Romines and Greg Shirey; and her siblings, James C. York, Calvin York, Inez York and Douglas York.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Lynn (Cecil), Emmett L. Kozel Jr., Vickey Scott (Bill) and Paula Kozel; her stepdaughters, Pamela Dyer and Belinda Vaughn; her siblings, Rayford Eugene York, Phyllis Jones, Margaret Anice Davis and RoseMarie Seeley; and her great grandchildren, Alvin Scott, Lamar Lynn, Jason Kozel, Nic Anthony, Nick Steele III and Noah Lynn. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
