He was predeceased by: his brother Howard A. Smith Jr. (Marjorie). He is survived by: his wife Theodora "Teddi"; his children, Kenneth Ward III, Kathleen Ferguson (Christopher), Loraine Lynch (David) and Tommy Smith; his grandchildren, Andrea Resendez, Joseph Resendez, Corey Maclachlan (Marisa), Kimberly Lynch, Kenneth Ward IV, Jamie Ward, Kristina Ward, Timothy Ward and Cheyenne Ward; and his siblings, Edward Smith (late Betty) and Virginia Hynes. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Robert J. Smith to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
