He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Kelsey and Margaret Kelsey; and his sister Karen. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Chris Kelsey (Lisa), Juliette Kelsey Chagnon (Robert) and Jennifer Brigandi; and his grandchildren, Jasmine, Jasper, Rory, Harper and Meret.
In lieu of other remembrances in memoriam, his wife Judy requests donations in his name to the World Wildlife Fund.
