She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, James Hixon and Sarah Hixon; her sons, Henry Chambless, John Chambless and Matthew Chambless; her grandson John Chambless Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Isabel Chambless, Christian Chambless and Elijah Chambless.

In lieu of flowers Carolyn requested that donations be made in her memory to St. Luke and St. Peter Church.
