He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Tassel and Reba Van Tassel (Willey); his wife Gloria Marlene VanTassel of St. Cloud; his children, Cynthia Durrance (Tim) of St. Cloud, Denise Smith (Andy) of Madison, GA, Eric VanTassel (Donna) of St. Cloud and Troy VanTassel of St. Cloud; and his sister Janet Viet of Griffin, GA.. He was also cherished by his parents and other siblings.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Orlando VA Hospital in Lake Nona.
