She was predeceased by: her former husband James Doner (Jim); and her parents, June Shrum and Earl Rice. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Donath, Steven Kollar (Sherry) and Debora Dessum (Chip); her husband David Kollar; her friend Jim Doner; and her parents-in-law, Bobbie and Jim. She is also survived by her family, friends.
In addition to raising her children and building a thriving dance studio, she also became an advocate and philanthropist for the Kidney Foundation. As a result of her involvement in the foundation, the children's father became one of the first recipients of an in-home kidney dialysis machine, where she then became the in-home caregiver.
