She was predeceased by : her husband Richard; her parents, Peter Weiland and Marian Weiland; and her sister Veronica Merrill. She is survived by : her son Ty Edwards; her daughter-in-law Alison Ekizian; her granddaughter Eve Edwards; her daughter Tawanna Edwards; her son-in-law Martin Ross; her daughter Turcessa Haigney; her granddaughter Samantha Haigney; and her sister Madonna Koenekamp.

Some of Monica's favorite charities were the Wounded Warrior Project, Boys Town, Salesian Missions and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
