He was predeceased by: his parents, Johannes Schaik and Laura Van Schaik (Jansen); and his brother Robert Van Schaik. He is survived by: his wife Marla Kay Dougherty; his children, Rachel "Brandy" Van Schaik of Moorpark and Brandon Van Schaik of Santa Barbara; his grandchildren, Nick Dougherty, Nicole Morrissey and Noah Dougherty; and his siblings, Peggy Epstein (Jeff) of Simi Valley and Frits Van Schaik (Darlene) of Kingsman.
