He was predeceased by: his wife Alyson; his former wife Judith; his children, Christopher, Steve Barrett (Michelle Torsney), Jennifer Barrett, Cyndi Hellerud (Scott) and Patrick Barrett; his granddaughters, Rachel Hellerud, Meaghan Barrett (David Takacs) and Catherine Barrett; and his great grandchildren, Alaric and Clara Takacs-Barrett.

He is survived by: his brothers, Jack, Bill, Don, Tom and Bud; his family, Dick and S. Air Force; and his sisters-in-law, Anita Barrett (Tom), Joanne Locke (Ed) and Alyson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many close friends.
