He was predeceased by: his adoptive father Howard M. Shinn, Jr. (late Edith Goldberg Shinn); and his sister Karen Gallo. He is survived by: his husband Ruel Cabaltera; his brother Steven Shinn; his brother-in-law Richard Gallo of Wilmington, NC; his niece Dana Gallo of New Rochelle, NY; and his nephews, Christopher Shinn of Cincinnati and Brian Shinn of Seattle. He is also survived by one grand nephew and four grand-nieces.
