He was predeceased by : his parents, Dattatraya Joshi and Sharda Joshi; and his siblings, Vasant Joshi, Ashok Joshi, Kamal Poonekar and Sulabha Khanabilkar.

He is survived by : his wife Dr. Anjali Joshi of Tallahassee; his children, Atul Joshi of Tallahassee and Amita Sinha (Niraj) of Charlotte; and his granddaughters, Kate and Harper Sinha of Charlotte.

The family is planning a private service due to the national Covid-19 emergency.
