She was predeceased by: her daughter Amanda Nash; her parents, Shelton Douglas Skinner, Sr. and Ruth Gertrude Crimmins Skinner; her siblings, Shelton Douglas Skinner, Jr. and Winifred Skinner Bloomberg; and her nieces, Mary Martin Bloomberg Reid, Madeline Marie Bloomberg and Christina Chapman.
She is survived by: her significant other William Ferrell; her son Andrew Nash (Gina); her grandchildren, Alexander, Marelise and Denver Nash; and her nephew Howard Bloomberg (Laura). She is also survived by 6 great nephews and 3 grand nieces.
Her sister suggested that she pursue a Master of Science at Loyola University New Orleans through a grant from the National Science Foundation to improve the quality of science education in elementary school.
