He is survived by: his daughter Lauren Leinonen; his siblings, Kathy Anderson, Wilfred "Butch" and Dale Leinonen (Vicki); and his friend Philip Pitts.

Due to the pandemic, a celebration of Duane's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Nature Conservatory.
