It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fannie Mae Purvis of Tallahassee, Florida, born in Madison, Florida, who passed away on March 20, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Bass and Minnie Bass; and her siblings, Neita Taylor, Minnie Lee Newborn and Russell Bass.
She is survived by: her husband George Purvis (Shorty); her brothers, Ellis Bass, Charles Bass and Jerry Bass (Christine); her children, Joan Rhodes (Aubrey), Wendell Purvis (Carol), Diane Lee (Ken), Frank Purvis (Nancy) and Dr. Mike Purvis; and her grandchildren, Gina, Bryan (Jodie), Chad, Anthony, Chris (Bethany), Lori (Bobby), Brian (Laura), Jason (Monica), Michael and Tommy. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
She lived through the depression, World War II, overcame poverty, ovarian cancer, and covid.
