We are sad to announce that on February 23, 2024, at the age of 97, James Leroy Hiatt of Tallahassee, Florida, born in Richmond, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his children, Glenn Hiatt (Susan) of St. Helens, Oregon, Kingsly Musgrove (David) of Tallahassee, Cecelia Hiatt of Cromwell, Indiana and David Hiatt of Tallahassee; and his friend Allen Campbell. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 10289, Tallahassee, FL 32302.

“I met Jim through the Deer Lake Methodist Church. We got to be friends with two strong common interests. He started flying many years ago and flew until he was 80. We were both in the US Air Force and also both flew civilian aircraft.. He wrote a book regarding his many experiences and I did also. We attended the Armory for veterans lunch once a month and went to the Quincy Airport for lunch twice a month. In Quincy we had burgers and talked flying and then drove all the country roads home.”
