He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard L. Melton, Sr. and Bessie Eliza Melton (Jones); and his siblings, Ronald Melton, Lindy A. Melton, Robert Brantley and Catherine Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Melton; his children, Karen M. Stewart (Stan) of Columbia, MD, Dana M. Wiehle (Kevin) of Tallahassee, FL, Leonard L. Melton III of Lakewood, CO and Audra Melton (Carlos Elgarrista); and his grandson Felix Lucas Elgarrista of Atlanta, GA..
