She was predeceased by: her parents, Maedell Turman (Moor) and Oscar Lewis Turman (Pete); her sister Ann Turman Massey (John); her son Rex T. Newman (Harumi); and her friend George Hanna.
She is survived by: her sons, Peter Newman (Lori) and Brett Newman of Tallahassee; her grandchildren, Peter John (Brianna), Taylor, Erin Newman of Tallahassee, Ken Stocks (Melissa) and Candace Maloman (Stephan); her great grandchildren, Anna, Sophie, Jasper and Ruby; and her nieces, Willa Powless (Andrew) and Joann Purviance.
