He was predeceased by: his children, James Corneilus and Jeannie Lee; his parents, Edward James and Myrtle Poole; and his wife Retha Irene.

He is survived by: his children, Carla Kay, Michael O'Shay and Donna Lorraine. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Honor Flight or The American Legion Tallahassee Post.
