He was predeceased by: his parents, David Butler and Lillie Mae Post Butler; and his siblings, Gerald, Herbert "Beaver" Butler, Patty Butler and Judy McInnis.

He is survived by: his significant other Willette Parr Butler; his children, Anita, George Dukas of Naples, David "Allan" and Anabel Butler of Tampa; and his grandchildren, Dana Sims, Nicole Butler, Andrea Butler and Andrew Butler.
