He is survived by: his children, Tommy Upshaw Jr. and Jacquelyn Upshaw Hines (Michael I); his grandchildren, Shawana Upshaw, Michael II, Mylo and Mario Hines; his great grandchild Michael III of Tampa, Florida; his significant other Ida Brownlee; his daughter Patricia Parks; his nephew Kamau Malik; his sons, Avery Brownlee and Anthony Brownlee; and his sister Juanita Burston (Richard). He is also survived by cousins, other relatives, neighbors, many friends.
